Electronic Drums and Percussion Reviews
Electronic drums: what to compare
- Pads. Mesh heads feel closer to acoustic drums and are quieter to hit than rubber pads.
- Module. Sound quality, built-in coaching functions, Bluetooth audio for play-along and USB-MIDI for recording.
- Hi-hat. A real pedal with continuous control is more expressive than a simple on/off switch.
- Noise. E-drums are quieter, but the kick pedal still transmits thumps through floors. A practice mat helps in apartments.
For hand percussion such as cajóns, look at the wood, the snare system and whether you want a built-in sound port or bass port.
