The Nitro Max is one of the most popular budget electronic drum kits because it offers mesh heads on all drums and Bluetooth play-along at a price where many competitors still use rubber pads.
What's included
- Nitro Max drum module with hundreds of sounds and preset kits
- 10" dual-zone mesh snare
- 3 × 8" mesh toms
- Kick tower with pedal
- Crash (with choke), ride and hi-hat pads, hi-hat controller pedal
- Aluminium rack
- Bluetooth audio, USB-MIDI, headphone output
Strengths
Value. Mesh on every drum and a full set of pads is impressive at this price. Play-along. Bluetooth makes it easy to stream songs and lessons from your phone. Learning content. Alesis bundles online drum lessons and software, helpful for self-taught beginners.
Weaknesses
- Cymbal pads and hi-hat are less nuanced than Roland or Yamaha equivalents.
- Rack is lighter and less rigid; pads can shift during energetic playing.
- Sound quality is good, but not as natural as more expensive modules.
Verdict
Hard to beat for value if you want mesh heads on a tight budget. For better feel and long-term reliability, compare the Roland TD-07KV.
