Independent musical instrument reviews and buying guides

Choosing an instrument is exciting — and confusing. Spec sheets are full of tonewoods, key actions and wattages that don't tell you how an instrument will feel to play. Music Instrument Store is an independent review site: we explain what the specifications mean in practice, list honest pros and cons, and say clearly who each instrument suits.

Explore our reviews

• Guitars — electric guitars, acoustic and classical guitars and bass guitars for beginners and players ready to upgrade.
• Ukuleles — soprano and concert models, from kids' first ukes to solid-wood instruments.
• Keyboards — 88-key digital pianos for learning and synthesizers and MIDI keyboards for making music.
• Drums and percussion — quiet electronic kits for home practice and cajóns for acoustic sessions.
• Amps and effects — practice and modelling amps, plus the classic first pedals.

How we review

Our editorial team works from manufacturers' official specifications, cross-checks them with independent sources and focuses on what matters day to day: comfort, sound, build, and value. We update reviews when models change.

We are a review website, not a shop: we don't sell instruments or take orders. Prices are shown for reference only.
