Sound
Solid cedar is prized in classical guitars for producing a warm, rich sound right from the start and reacting quickly to a light touch. The S65C has a full midrange and clear, sweet trebles that suit classical repertoire, Latin styles and fingerstyle arrangements.
Who it suits
Students in their second or third year of lessons, adult players returning to the guitar, and anyone who wants a European-built nylon-string instrument without spending concert-guitar money.
Care tips
Solid tops are sensitive to humidity — keep the guitar in a case and away from heaters. Cedar is softer than spruce and marks more easily, so use a soft cloth and a stand.
Verdict
A rewarding upgrade with genuine solid-wood tone. Compare it with the Cordoba C5, another solid-cedar classical guitar at a similar level.
