Sound
Bright and fairly loud for the price, with a clear voice that works well for strumming chords and accompanying singing. Because the top is laminated rather than solid, it has less depth and sustain than solid-top guitars such as the Yamaha FG800.
Playability
The body is a touch more compact than a full dreadnought, which helps teenagers and smaller adults. The action from the factory is usually reasonable; a professional set-up and lighter strings make chords noticeably easier for beginners.
